PARIS, June 20 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.34 percent, or 18.32 points, to close at 5,372.31 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 24 lost in the day.

French international luxury group Kering tumbled 2.49 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French luxury brand Hermes was down 1.64 percent and French multinational automotive supplier VALEO lost 1.25 percent.

Public relations company Publicis Groupe advanced 1.65 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French advertising group Vivendi rose 1.23 percent and French multinational pharmaceutical company Sanofi was up 0.95 percent. Enditem
